The University of Texas at Austin has awarded the McCombs School of Business Strategic Master Plan to the team of Perkins+Will and McKinney York Architects. This high-profile project drew competition from across the country and is an essential step in achieving the School’s goal of becoming one of the most prominent business schools in the world.

McKinney York Architects will be participating in “OPEN ARCHITECTURE” this Saturday, which is a self-guided tour of 18 East Austin Architecture studios. All proceeds benefit Uplift Austin. We’ll have some presentations of our work in the form of photography slideshows, renderings, drawings, and electronic building models. Stop by for some apple cider and good conversation!

McKinney York Architects Launch New Website

Although it has been up and running for a few weeks, our new website officially launches today. The new site is a significant upgrade from the old one, featuring large project images, Google location maps, and in some cases integrated video. Check out the Robbs Run House and the Leander Transit Facility for a few video samples. In addition to project information, we also have an upgraded news page, complete with a Twitter feed. In the future, we will be posting construction and design progress images on Twitter as well as items of general interest to Architects and fans of the design industry.

Thanks to Rachel Clemens and Jennifer Wright at Creative Suitcase, our web designers, and also to their developer, Iain Gray for getting it all done.

Heather McKinney juries the North Dakota AIA Design Awards

Founding Principal Heather McKinney, FAIA, LEED AP participated in the 2009 North Dakota AIA Design Awards as a juror. The deliberations were conducted in Dallas and Michael Malone, AIA and Jeff Potter, AIA (both of Dallas) rounded out the group.

Our newly renovated office building in East Austin (we relocated last year) is discussed in the July/August issue of Residential Architect magazine.
