Al York

Prior to joining McKinney York Architects, Mr. York worked in Baltimore, Birmingham, and Lubbock as both an educator and a practitioner.  While serving as an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University College of Architecture he was given several teaching honors, including the Tau Sigma Delta Teaching Excellence Award and the Ex-Students Association New Faculty Award.  He moved to Austin and joined the firm in 1995, and in 1998 became a partner.  During his professional career he has overseen many award winning projects including the City of Leander Transit Facility, the Waco Residence, and the Buddy Holly Center.  The firm also relies on him to manage the most complex projects in the office like the UT Chilling Station No. 6.
