Austin Plastic Surgery Institute
Rollingwood, TX
The goal for this 10,000 square foot office infill was to aesthetically and physically integrate five separate plastic surgery practices, with vastly different needs and clientele, into one new group office. The design includes multiple reception and waiting areas, offices, and exam, consultation, and conference rooms. McKinney York provided programming, interior architecture, and finish and furniture selection services. The design reestablished functional circulation, restructured mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to allow for individual metering, and modified the building shell to allow for heavy record storage systems. Access was provided for both a cosmetic suite and a reconstructive suite that operate on weekdays and a satellite skin care unit on a different schedule. With a fast track building schedule, a zen-like atmosphere was created for the common spaces, while the functional spaces maintain a consistent material palette to achieve a cohesive identity for the facility.
