About

Pemberton Heights Residence

Austin, Texas

This residence lies hidden off a busy primary street near downtown and the University. The project is a renovation and addition that transforms and shifts the focus of the house to take advantage of views, adjacent outdoor spaces, and the densely treed setting. The renovated ground floor looks out onto an outdoor courtyard, and the addition rises up through the site's tree canopies, providing treetop nesting for the master suite and a child's bedroom and bath.

Sustainable initiative include: low-VOC emitting materials (paint, carpet, adhesive) to improve indoor air quality; and natural and renewable materials such as bamboo flooring.
