Project Details

This upscale, 3,500 square foot Hostel in an up-and-coming East Austin neighborhood can sleep as many as 42 people a night in a mix of individual and community spaces, including dorm rooms and private bedrooms.  The program was divided into two parts to allow for acoustical privacy: a 2-story sleeping quarters building, and a separate, single-story community building.  The community building contains a full kitchen, living area, laundry facility, administrative space, and opens out onto a communal backyard and private parking courtyard.  A spacious outdoor seating stair knits these two buildings together and provides a shaded space for travelers to socialize and enjoy Austin’s relatively mild outdoor climate.
