Project Details

Set on a sprawling 113-acre hill country ranch studded with majestic live oaks, this residence is designed to rest in harmony with the rolling landscape. A horizontal glass and steel pavilion stretches across the site providing views in all directions. The pavilion’s soaring roof tilts up to capture daylight and expanded views of the tree canopies and big Texas sky. With an underside clad in wood, the inverted roof hovers above both the interior living spaces and a wrap-around porch with a slot to capture rainfall and allow light to filter into the heart of the home. The earthy sandstone volumes anchor the composition and extend from inside to outside enhancing the home’s connection to the site.
