Project Details

This residence carefully orchestrates the relationship between solid and void to create close connections while maintaining separations between public and private functions in both indoor and outdoor rooms. Three masonry masses contain private functions while anchoring the home and supporting a canopy-like roof that shelters the public spaces. Each indoor space has a unique relationship to the surrounding environment. The main living area opens up to the backyard, the primary bedroom abuts the swimming pool, the kitchen faces east to a private garden, the gym is paired with a shallow and shady north-facing garden, and the study has an open view across the front yard.
