Austin International School Renovation

scroll View Project Description

Project Details

Austin International School is a seamless trilingual learning experience for families with a global outlook. As a first step in implementing a broader campus plan, this initial renovation looks to add much needed classroom space and a new entry and welcome center to the existing school lhoused in an old church. Inspired by the mission of the school to fuel inquiry and inspire critical thinking, the new library creates an environment designed to fuel curiosity and adventure. Taking advantage of the existing arched windows, nest-like reading niches encourage students to bring a book to the light. In keeping with the seamless experience, the school seeks to provide, shelving with casters allows reconfiguration to serve a wide array of arrangement. The tall volume of the existing space is animated with light globes that dance playfully though the space, capturing the energy and global perspective of the school.
