Project Details

Set between woods and water, this house replaced a dilapidated cottage built ninety years ago by the owner’s grandparents. The open plan and the shapes of the rooms exude the casual, simple lifestyle of a summer home. This sense of airiness is further reinforced by the oversized windows and multiple entries. The new home was designed to fit the beautiful furniture built by the owner’s grandfather for the original cottage, and is further anchored to its heritage and place by the use of a green & white color scheme.

Sustainability: reuse of old stones from the fireplace, murals from the walls, and painted rugs from the floorboards
