Project Details

McKinney York Architects designed the interiors and all casework and fixtures for this 5,500 square foot retail store to create a clean, light, and durable setting for the display of specialized products. Paper Planet, by concept, is a paper “warehouse” that carries in bulk an assortment of goods that range from everyday stationery to handmade imported papers from all over the world. Given the wide assortment of merchandise, the owners wanted to create a flexible environment that complemented their product while providing a cohesive setting for display. The design of the fixtures is intended to express the weight of the paper, and like warehouse palettes, they are raised off the floor for air circulation and ease of relocation. The lighting drew on the themes of the store with simple, wrapped paper fixtures and long runs of track lighting for flexibility.
