Project Details

An inviting park-like experience welcomes visitors to downtown Yoakum, TX, and banking customers to the new Yoakum National Bank. The Texas community bank, founded in 1890, seeks to create a visually and functionally cohesive campus through the reimagining of the main building, newly acquired former Masonic Lodge, the Annex, and parking and green areas. The proposed courtyard, named Bennett Plaza in honor of the bank’s founder, provides new exterior signage with the bank’s logo and a horizontal composition of shaded bench seating inspired by the mid-century modern architecture and large areas of native plantings displaying a variety of textures reminiscent of the surrounding foothills of Yoakum, Texas.

Renovations to historic and existing facilities enhance the building’s street presence and bring warm natural materials to the modern interiors of the new lobby that showcase upgrades in line with today’s banking requirements and visualize the bank’s focus on the future.
